Thank you for considering a donation!
NLA-International has been
providing funds to communities since 1986. We have raised funds for AIDS/HIV
like many leather organizations. However, we have also provided funding for
other organizations, clubs, and institutions. We were the first to donate to
the creation of the LA&M. We were there pushing to raise money for sex-positive
activism in the ’80s and we still currently do this today. We have always
maintained an eye on educating the public on the differences between BDSM and
abuse. We have spent our existence re-investing the dues of our members back
into the community abroad and into outside projects and organizations to help
not only the LGBT community but also the broader pansexual community.
Our
members have always insisted that we invest their funds into projects and
organizations that support our mission. They have also expected us to invest
their dues and donation back into the creation of new clubs and events in areas
where none existed before. We have spent over 30 years doing just that, and we
will continue to do these things for as long as we exist.
Our
members have always insisted that we maintain responsibility for the
recognition of those that inspire our community. The Authors that write the
works educating or flooding our imaginations with fantasy and realities of our
world and past. The Artists, who create from their imagination a reflection of
our society, desires, and suffering. The Activists, those that painstakingly
give up their own free time and dedicate themselves to something larger than
themselves. With that responsibility, we maintain our Living in Leather Awards
with great pride and commit them to those mentioned above. We see these people as
leaders and creators of our culture over the decades. We celebrate their work
and honor them on our site.
The
NLA has created two large scale projects in its lifetime. Both are 501 c3
charitable organizations and are managed by Living in Leather LLC, which is
overseen by the NLA International Officers.
The Domestic Violence Project
(DVP) – educating the difference between BDSM and ABUSE.
The Living in Leather Project
(LIL) – Focuses on building Clubs, events and Awarding the Authors, Artists and
Activists of our community.
While
we are dependent on dues for our operations within NLA from our fraternal
membership. We do hope that you could consider giving a donation to the above
projects. It would go a long way in helping to continue their work. We thank
you for taking the time to read this page, and we hope you will share our
vision with someone else!
